Celebrating Father Cropper

On Sunday, June 20, 2010, St. George's celebrated the life and ministry of our long-time rector and friend, the Rev'd Dale T. Cropper, Jr. Dale served this parish for 24 years, and loved this county and community very much. In turn, so many St. Georgians loved Dale and his family. Sadly, Dale died in 2002, but Mrs. Sue Cropper and their sons, Adam and Chip -- and their growing families -- were able to come back home to Valley Lee and spend time with good friends, getting to share stories about a wonderful man of God. Bishop John Bryson Chane made his parish visit that day, and got to dedicate the new Dale Cropper Memorial Nursery in the parish hall. The timing couldn't have been better -- as June 20th was Father's Day!
